We are back in Lima, after 10 days of adventure-within-our-adventure.
The first stop was Cusco and the Sacred Valley. The kids were thrilled to see llamas and alpacas all over the place. These pictures are from the ruins around Sacsayhuaman, which we explored on foot, and then on horseback.
Horseback riding
These were not carnival ponies- this was for real. No waivers to sign, no questions asked if we knew how to ride, rope reins, kids on our laps, and no one leading the horses.
Little sis was not happy at first, but once we climbed the steep mountain and were on flat ground she began to enjoy the ride. However much of it ended up being in the rain, and we were glad to meet our taxi driver at the halfway point after an hour and a half and call it a day.
