Bush Walks and Waterfalls

There are endless options for stopping along the road and hiking (“bush walking.”) Much of the area we hiked today was rainforest. It reminded us of the Amazon (without the mosquitos, malaria, knee-high mud, or torrential downpours!😂)  







Roaring Billy is dumping water out of what seems to be a small hole in the mountain, but carrying quite a bit of water and a thundering roar.

With many of these hikes, we are the only ones there, which makes it so peaceful.

    Isn’t it amazing how you can be the only person enjoying the peacefulness?! I guess that’s the benefit of traveling in a country where the population is about 4.5 million and a good majority of the NZers live in Auckland.
