Queenstown and Glenorchy

Warning: lots of scenery in this post!

Incredible views started right from our hillside hotel.
From the hotel yard.

Our second day in Queenstown we queued up for our own taste test of the famous "Fergburger," and then took our burgers on a picnic, admiring that amazing, turquoise lake from ground-level this time. The burgers were all delicious, even the "Bambi" (yep. We can say we tried it, and NZ venison tasted better than in Pennsylvania, lol). Later on, we hit Patagonia Chocolates for ice cream, another "must-try." In between, we took in all the scenery pics which follow.
In line at Fergburger (when in Rome...)

The road from Queenstown to Glenorchy is touted as one of the most beautiful drives in the world. At this point, our bar is ridiculously high in the scenery department, but the drive did not disappoint. The lake was the star of the show, with bright turquoise water all.day.long. Glenorchy is a tiny little town at the end of the road, but famous for Lord of the Rings being filmed here.
